Keri Lewis Brown

Keri Lewis Brown - Managing Director
Keri founded K7 Media in 1998 as an independent organisation providing media intelligence to broadcasters, producers, distributors and advertisers. Keri has driven the company’s growth from breakaway startup to a leading media consultancy providing insights to an 80-strong client base across the world.

Before founding K7 Media, Keri was Head of International Sales for production company, Action Time, where she led the rapid expansion of international format sales, making her one of the first to explore the potential of global programming. Keri is based at K7 Media’s headquarters in Manchester and in March 2015 was appointed to the Management Board of FRAPA (Format Recognition and Protection Association) which aims to protect the intellectual property of television formats across the globe.


Phil Birchenall - Projects Director
Phil joined the company as Projects Director in 2013 and was appointed to the K7 board in June 2015. With over 14 years in the creative, digital and media industries, Phil is responsible for the expansion of technology infrastructure to K7 Media’s growing list of clients.

Phil has devised highly regarded training schemes on international markets, leadership and management, intellectual property and digital technologies for clients including Manchester City Council, Arts Council England and Creative Skillset.

Phil is unashamedly obsessed by gadgets and the impact of new technologies on entertainment. He applies this knowledge throughout K7 Media’s work, adding his insight into emerging content and technology trends. As a proud dad, Phil also inputs on the latest developments in the kids TV space.

Dan Whitehead - Head of Drama and Digital
Dan Whitehead is K7 Media's Head of Drama and Digital.

Dan writes K7’s World Drama Report and curates the monthly K7 Scriptlist video showreel. He also applies his insight into scripted content trends across the company’s research output.

Dan has been the entertainment writer for Big Issue In The North since 2005, reporting from the set of dozens of TV shows and major motion pictures and also worked on officially licensed books for Warner Bros, Viacom and Lucasfilm. He is also well versed in gaming, having written for outlets such as Official Xbox Magazine, Eurogamer and the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition.

Clare Thompson

Clare Thompson - Non-Executive Director

Former Managing Director of creative consultancy, Ignite, and former Head of Entertainment Development at ITV, Clare consults on TV development, international formats and trends for broadcasters and production companies in the UK, US, Germany and China. Having partnered with K7 Media on several projects since 2013, Clare was invited to join the company’s first board in June 2015.

Clare’s time at ITV saw her head up development on big entertainment shows including Saturday Night Takeaway, Gameshow Marathon and the Paul O'Grady Show, before launching her own agency, Ignite, running development workshops and commissioning strategy projects for a wealth of clients, including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Shine, All3Media, MTV, Warner Brothers and Radio One.

Clare loves writing and presenting on trends for TV (as well as her other passion, food) and is currently setting up a London based venues business to deliver workshops in unusual creative settings.


Danny Kershaw - International Research Manager
Danny is K7's International Research Manager, responsible for producing K7’s weekly European Report, which brings together the key developments in television from across the continent.

In addition to this, Danny works individually and alongside collaborators to produce K7’s suite of Territory Reports, which provide an oversight on content trends in geographical areas from Latin America to Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, and most recently Germany.

Within the business Danny also contributes to writing K7’s monthly kids’ programming release The Little Report, and supervises ongoing research projects for K7’s extensive client base.

David Ciaramella - Communications Manager
David joined K7 after graduating in 2013 with a Degree in Journalism from Sheffield Hallam University.

David curates K7’s monthly Quicklist showreel. He is also responsible for editing videos, producing video interviews, assisting the management of the K7 database, and supporting the team on research tasks.

At the weekend, he plays guitar in a band, and loves blogging about his travels.

Richard O'Meara - Senior Researcher

Richard graduated from the University of Manchester in 2012 with a degree in History.

He is responsible for writing the UK Drama and Comedy Report and the North American (Scripted) Report. In addition, Richard writes K7’s monthly Arts and Australia updates, and carries out other research in response to client requests.

Outside of K7 Media, Richard enjoys music and travel, and combines these two interests by attending music festivals. Richard is a big fan of US dramas like True Detective and The Sopranos, as well as comedy series like Curb Your Enthusiasm.


Tom Burton - Marketing Manager
Tom graduated with a Masters degree from Goldsmiths University in 2014 and went straight to work at Twofour Rights, now part of ITV Studios. Tom was promoted to Sales Executive in 2015 where he oversaw Central Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Israel and Greece as well as Inflight.

Tom supports K7’s business development activities, increasing awareness of the service as it expands into new territories and genres. He also maintains relationships with UK production companies which feed into weekly intelligence updates to The Slate.

When not playing / watching football and tennis, Tom enjoys watching a film and getting stuck into a plot-rich boxset.


Beth Henley - Researcher
Beth returned to K7 Media following two years travelling Australia. She first gained production experience whilst completing an apprenticeship at the BBC.

Beth specialises in video editing and manages screener requests at K7. She also helps to compile the Quicklist and complete research requests.

Alongside travelling, Beth enjoys netball and regularly plays for a local team.


James Conibear - Researcher
Manchester native James graduated from Edge Hill University in 2014 with a degree in Film and Television Production.

James manages the production of The Slate, K7’s online guide to around 500 TV production companies in the UK. He also contributes to K7’s monthly Quicklist and Digital Quicklist showreels, alongside K7's UK Comedy & Drama Report.

An avid lover of movies and TV drama, before coming to K7 he worked on various freelance projects as a cameraman and editor. James also writes his own film blog in his spare time, as well as pursuing his interests in video games and hitting his local courts for a spot of tennis.

Kael new

Kael Oakley - Design Associate

Kael is K7 Media's Design Associate.

Kael is currently studying graphic design at the University of Edinburgh, and outside of his work at K7 he loves drawing, designing and listening to music.
